S<\/span><\/b>tatligt subventionerade skivbolaget Caprice \u2013 f\u00f6r \u201dsmal musik\u201d \u2013 forts\u00e4tter sin serie Svensk jazzhistoria och har nu kommit till volym 11: Jazz Cosmopolit <\/i>(1970-79). Det \u00e4r en v\u00e4lkommen volym d\u00e5 det decenniet snarare pr\u00e4glades av rocken i b\u00f6rjan, punken i mitten och discopopen i slutet.<\/span><\/p>

Proggrocken tassade nu <\/span><\/b>in i jazzen, m\u00e4rkbart i sj\u00e4lva bandnamnen: Musikteatergruppen Oktober, Arbete & fritid, Takt & ton etcetera. Och folkmusiken fi ck \u00e4n st\u00f6rre plats efter Jan Johanssons och Don Cherrys utflykter p\u00e5 1960 -talet: som i Iskras \u201dSolsken \u00f6ver \u00c5ngerman\u00e4lven\u201d eller Peter Gullins \u201dSommarpsalm\u201d. V\u00e4rldsmusiken ej att f\u00f6rgl\u00f6mma: Sextetten Sevda (\u201dk\u00e4rlek\u201d) tolkade traditionell turkisk musik p\u00e5 sitt eget, fusionerade vis. Och kvartetten Rena Rama hade, som namnet avsl\u00f6jar, ena foten i Indien och r\u00f6nte ocks\u00e5 stor uppm\u00e4rksamhet d\u00e4r.<\/span><\/p>

Om detta kan <\/span><\/b>lyssnaren l\u00e4sa i det v\u00e4lmatade h\u00e4ftet som medf\u00f6ljer varje box, som inneh\u00e5ller h\u00f6gt och l\u00e5gt, obligatorium och trivia inom den svenska jazzhistorien.<\/span><\/p>

Den tionde volymen Watch 0ut! <\/i>portr\u00e4tterar tiden d\u00e5 musikerna satte Sverige p\u00e5 jazzkartan. P\u00e5 restaurang Gyllene Cirkeln (ABF-huset p\u00e5 Sveav\u00e4gen i Stockholm) avl\u00f6ste de stora namnen varandra: Bud Powell, Dexter Gordon, Coleman Hawkins och Ornette Coleman etcetera, etcetera.<\/span><\/p>

Nu rotade sig ocks\u00e5 alltfler musiker h\u00e4r, tr\u00f6tta p\u00e5 segregering och krigf\u00f6ring, McCarthyism och Vietnampolitik, rasism och mord (John F & Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King & Malcolm X).<\/span><\/p>

Basisten Red Mitchell blev kvar, liksom trumpetaren Don Cherry som fick barn med konstn\u00e4ren Moki och slog sig ned i T\u00e5garp i Sk\u00e5ne. Medan Monica Z for \u201dover there\u201d ett slag, tr\u00e4ff ade Miles Davis och sj\u00f6ng med Bill Evans. <\/span><\/p>

Fast starkast pr\u00e4glas volymens fyra skivor av Sveriges Radios ensembler Jazzstudioorkestern och Radiojazzgruppen (grundade 1966 respektive 1967). Fr\u00e4mst Jan Johanssons komplexa, n\u00e4rmast konstmusikaliska kompositioner i samarbeten d\u00e4ri; fj\u00e4rran fr\u00e5n Jazz p\u00e5 svenska <\/i>och ryska <\/i>(se MM nr 38 2018). <\/span><\/p>

Det var en <\/span><\/b>dynamisk och expansiv tid som stramades \u00e5t allt eftersom folkhemsbygget tog sig n\u00e4rmast diktatoriska och socialfascistiska former f\u00f6r ett n\u00e4rmast h\u00e4nsynsl\u00f6st \u201dbulldozrande\u201d (Norrmalmsregleringen) av innerstadens en g\u00e5ng s\u00e5 gemytliga k\u00e4rna (Klarakvarteren). <\/span><\/p>

1968 var \u00e5ret d\u00e5 inte bara K\u00e5rhuset ockuperades utan \u00e4ven jazzmusikerna gick i f\u00f6rstamajt\u00e5get under banderollen: \u201dSAMMA ST\u00d6D \u00c5T JAZZ som \u00e5t annan musik\u201d.
